After a number of years with the current mandatory training and exams for child care workers throughout the State of Florida, the Child Care Office of the Department of Children and Families realized they needed to reevaluate their mandatory training offerings and related exams.
The International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) is globally recognized as the leader in public safety certifications, having issued over 100,000 certificates in public safety. IMSA wanted to increase rigor in their certifications and provide radically updated training to their members as they prepared to take their certification exam in a specific discipline, such as Work Zone, Signs and Markings and Traffic Signal 1, that enabled certified individuals to maintain traffic signal cabinets.
A regional Girl Scout council organization had recently merged two councils into one. Each council had a different culture, and the Executive Director over this new council structure wanted to create cultural uniformity.
Change by Design was brought in as a subcontractor to address performance issues at the US national office of a big truck (18-wheeler) manufacturing company. The challenge they faced was in the sales area for their distributors in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Specifically, they wanted to build capacity in their sales force to replicate the “secret sauce” of their expert sales associates. This company also wanted documentation of all capabilities and skills so that as they went forward they could build courses that were aligned with needed competencies.
This state-level education association found itself at a crossroads in terms of the internal politicization of their organization and their people. A deeply-entrenched culture of political infighting existed among employees, where others’ efforts were sabotaged, fellow employees were thrown under the bus in order for another to come out on top, and gaslighting as an undercutting mechanism…again for political posturing. Association Education Department leadership hired Change by Design to work in a substantial way with those in the culture to help shift it to greater health.
The State of Florida's social marketing campaign for adopting children who were wards of the state was extremely successful, but also exposed serious challenges within the adoption system. Change by Design was hired to help.
