Change by Design was hired to improve the learning-related services for a rapidly growing company based in Maryland that works in the federal government space. When the organization grew from 10 employees to more than 150 (plus subcontractors) over two years, they found an outside intervention was necessary to better identify the human resources scalability challenges present within their HR system. This project has been actively addressing those issues in a three-pronged approach, all while helping to steady operations.
LMS Integration With BambooHR
The client’s first request was for Change by Design to identify and rank the top five learning management systems that would best align with their BambooHR human resource system. Once identified, their second concern was identifying key compliance courses that would meet federal government requirements and would also enable them to continue to expand the number of employees, all while paying a flat fee for unlimited access to the courses.
Cultural Reinforcement After LMS And HR System Integration
A third concern was on maintaining the company’s strong, caring culture within the learning products. Because one of the organization’s favorite activities to reinforce culture has been their lunch gatherings, Change by Design recommended development of a ‘conversation template.’ The tool would enable HR-related information, such as identifying sexual harassment through scenario-focused discussions, to be infused across the organization via the lunch gathering medium. The template was created, and Change by Design is currently develop three different scenario + discussion lunch activities within the tool to get them started.
Change by Design is known for effective learning products and for identifying solutions to performance-related issues that might or might not include a learning solution. Each organization has different needs that may need an alternative to a LMS and HR system integration. One example is this custom cultural competency performance evaluation and learning system recently completed for a non-profit in Jacksonville, Florida.
